THE WALTZ LATERN

The Waltz Lantern is a lamp that is inspired by the movement of a dance skirt. The lamp is 3D printed using a translucent material, which allows the light to diffuse and create a soft, warm glow. The lamp’s design is both elegant and playful, making it a perfect addition to any room that needs a touch of whimsy. The lamp’s shape is reminiscent of a flowing skirt, with the light source located at the bottom of the lamp. This creates a beautiful effect, as the light shines through the translucent material and illuminates the surrounding area.

MONDINE

The Lombardy region is one of the main areas of rice production in Italy. The desert climate of the United Arab Emirates, host of the expo 2020, does not allow such cultivation. The “Mondine” project celebrates the Lombardian agricultural tradition and depicts a fundamental element, the rice plant. In both cultures rice is a main culinary element. This project is a symbolic narration of the profound relationship of respect and sharing between our two countries.

BOX HIVE

This digital fabrication project is based on creating a pattern that has repetitive and iterative qualities. This pattern is expressed through 3 different materials: white museum board, heavyweight paper, and frosted acrylic. The box is created using the laser cutter and it developed to become a lamp which transforms the materials into interesting layers from which light shines through.

TRI-FROND

The project is an investigation into part-to-whole relationships and the manner in which similar and/or neighboring geometries interact, join, and dialog with one another, this project is about studying digital and material work flows embedded in spatial tiling. Using the CNC and Vacu-form machines, a mold was created. This mold was later filled with plaster and attached to an MDF board.
